finger cuts
« on: November 22, 2010, 01:57:41 PM »
Ok question time. Reading quite a few post over the last 2 months or so and see "my fingers cut up". Now I have been around bowling for a while even worked at a center for 8 1/2 years. I have maybe only seen 1 persons fingers all cut up from bowling. That was with a house ball he used to bowl league 3 times a week with. I have seen a lot of tore up thumbs tho. My question is are these really badly drilled balls or some sort of the end is near 2012 thing?

Bowling is like life. Sometimes you are the ball. Other times you are the pins.

I have cut the side of my fingers for years.
Have tried pitch changes, different style of inserts.
You name it.
Have talked with numerous pro shop people across the country and they look at my hand and then shrug there shoulders.
Usually it gets worse in the winter months because my hands tend to dry out.
So I use a lot of moisturizer  on them.
I have learned to do more preventive maintenance on my hands after bowling large amounts of games in tournaments.
Band aids and neosporeun minimizes the damage.

I can wear out a set of grips in less than a week if I am really getting a handful.
Have tried gloves in the past they do not work for me.

I will just keep doing what I am doing.
Besides I order grips in bulk to save on the price.
