Bowling Shoes ......
« on: April 10, 2009, 01:00:34 AM »
A question from an observation ....

Why do we spend so much money on bowling shoes when (from what I've seen) the majority of the people use a slide sock instead of the interchangeable heels/soles?  I know several people who have given their heels and soles away because they simply don't use them.  Do you find that to be the norm whenever you bowl (i.e. other bowlers)?

i have used smash49's slide sock for several years now with my tour ultra's.  it is a comfort thing to me.  they feel better than the dexters i had before and the slide sock affords me the ability to slide reasonably well anywhere.  before the sock, i would be sitting down fussing with the sole everywhere i went.  i do have to replace the heel when they wear out however.

Seems like the slide sock is intended more for people who want a lot of slide or who bowl on sticky approach's. In our house, the approaches are pretty slick most of the time anyway. A slide sock for me would be dangerous.
No, you may not handle my balls. Well....maybe just for a little while.
