Im trying to decide between SST7s, SST6LX's & brunswick classics(apparently the same as the SST6 LX, just a different name on them.

Has anyone actually had an issue with the toe on the 7s?

I'll be interested in the answer to this as well.  My old 5's (blue and silver), the rubber toe has seperated from the sole.

I have the 7's and I love them.  I don't have any problems with the rubber, but that's just me personally.  They are very well put together compared to the last pair of Dexters I had.

No complaints here.

Best pair of Dexters I ever had. They don't fall apart at all.

Agreed, very well put together.  My other ones, and I can't remember which ones they were but they were black and gold, started falling apart after a month or two.  These are super sturdy and a very good purchase.  The only way I could see the rubber part affecting you, would be if you slide up on your toes....

That was the first pair of Dexters I bought. I had just started bowling that year. I had the same problem with them and all 6 pairs I bought afterwords.

Dexter has also now modified the SST7's so that the toe curls up a little bit so that you have less of a chance of catching the lip.

When i first got the sst7s i would catch the lip and almost fall everytime i bowled, so i took a knife and actually cut the rubber lip off, best thing i ever did

I just got some SST7's a couple of weeks ago. The only thing I seen about them is about the grip shoe. It had some little pieces of rubber that needed to be removed from the yellow section (looked like where they came out of the mold).

They made the grip feel funny on the aproach. I just scraped them off with my finger nail. Seem just fine now.

Other than that they seem pretty good. Hope they last as long as my SST5's I've had them for years. Well still do I just wore the rubber power tip off.I hated that rubber tip because I drag my toe.

The 7's are 100% better with the plastic cap over the rubber tip.
