Having shoe/slide trouble??
« on: November 24, 2006, 04:02:23 PM »
Alright here is my problem and I need a quick fix because I have to figure it out by tomorrow cause I have a tournament on Sunday that I want to be really well in.  The past 2-3 weeks I have been bowling very poorly because I do not feel comfortable on the approach and my slide.  Currently I have dynothane shoes but they are a little customized.  I cut the triangle off the heel in the back so I can use any sole.  I also took off the lining around the sole so I can use any sole.  I have been using Dexter sole 2 and heel 2 (round reversible) for a long time now but lately I have been sliding like crazy and I do not know why.  Those are the least sliding sole and heel combination I have found and I have used everything.  I have pretty good by the book form and use my heel to brake but I cant stop sliding lately and I do not know what to do so I am hoping someone on here can tell me some ideas.  I havent changed anything in my form or approach in about a month so I know it isnt related to that.  Please shoot me anything, need to fix this.  I have had a few people watch me and my timing is still good.

Has the house you bowl at resurfaced the approachs or anything like that recently.  One of the local houses here did that over the summer and I still can get my slide right when I bowl there because they are so slick.   Anyways dexter actually has an S1 (sole) and H1 (heel) that should even get you less slide that what you are getting.

Dynothane also has a brown leather sole that is pretty hard to slide on in my opinion. And there adjustable heel might help to get a little more brake then what you are currently getting.  I don't know if these are things that are easy for you to get in the time frame you have but they would be my suggestions.

Personally I think that the rippled heel dynothane has would have more brake that the h2 heel from dexter.

Anyways hope this helps
