Help: Basic Wrist support needed
« on: February 23, 2005, 09:08:31 AM »
Hey,
Yeah yeah... I'm the question king lately.  Here we go.

I have inflamed, a tiny bit, something in my right wrist.  I had a doctor friend look at it, and he doesn't believe its anything serious but I'm going to get an MRI next week just to make sure since its covered by my insurance.

So in the meantime I'm recommended to use some wrist support to keep the 'tweaking' of my wrist to a minimum.  Thats fine by me, but the last time I wore one I could barely move my hand correctly and everything just felt off.

What would you recommend for a low impact wrist support?  Just something to keep me from pushing my wrist too far in any direction, but still give me that tiny bit of mobility I need.  I've been looking online, but nothing really provides me with much confidence.

So in short looking for some basic wrist support, but nothing that keeps me completely stiff.

Thanks.  I'll look into that.

I hate wrist support, its always felt weird to me, but if I can get something that will at least give me the 'option' of my natural throw and just stop me from those occasional 'too far' cranks then I'd be happy and set.

You could try the Columbia Pro Grip ... they have a few different ones; I use the tackified glove fingers one and it has a support for behind your wrist and hand and nothing in the palm. I never liked wrist supports but this one doesn't make me feel like I'm wearing a cast. Hope this helps ...

Robby Revs II. It is so light that you don't even know you have it on and can be adjusted to any position you desire.

Master Wristmaster II Excel, the model that allows you to easily remove either of the metal supports.  I always remove the palm support, have no idea how anyone can bowl with that thing in his palm.

Good, basic glove/wrist support that provides support without making you feel or look bionic.
