coloring 3GS with shoe polish?
« on: July 12, 2010, 11:10:55 AM »
Hi everyone, just a question. Has anyone ever tried to color their 3Gs with shoe polish?  Eric at 900 global sent me replacement shoes and sent me a pair of the burgandy and grey ones and frankly, the color isnt that good.  My girlfriend told me to give to try shoe polish.  I was just wondering if any one has tried this.

Thanx.

Having restored Jordans for some time, it works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. It all matters on how the material is. Polish will color Durabuck/Suede/Nubuck, but I can see it rubbing off on leather. Not sure what the 3GS are made out of, didn't look. I've had shoes where the leather has broken down and dye has brung them back to life.

3G Tour Ultra's are made from kangaroo leather. I don't think trying to change the color via shoe polish will work.

To change the color you will likely need leather dye, not polish. You could really make a mess with this idea... Just my .02.

Thanx guys...more I think about it I'm just going to buy a new pair.  If any of you have seen this color on the Tour Ultras...they are more pink then a burgandy or wine color.

Thanx.

I have those shoes and Iove them!  Color is nice too and I've had them for almost a year and not one person ever made a comment about it looking pink. My friend has the black pair and those are nice too, but IMHO, mine is nicer.
