Do you wear Nike trainers and ABS shoes?
« on: February 12, 2005, 06:46:40 AM »
Hi!

Sizing question: I wear Nike US size 10, and I'm interested in ABS bowling shoes (Sport Ultra, S-1551).

I'm buying them online, so do I get the same size?

Many thanks

Hmm, that's a tough one.  From what i've seen, nike's always run small, meaning that a size 10 nike could be a size 9 or 9.5 in reebok or something.  Chances are, whatever size bowling shoe you wear will be the size you should get.

I wear AMF house shoes!  Well they are MY house shoes cos I used to work at a bowling centre.

That's right, I own 19 bowling balls and wear house shoes..... people always give me funny look when I play in tournaments, but then again, people give me funny looks anway.....

You can always just buy the 10s, and if they are a bit too big, it's nothing another pair of socks couldn't fix.

My findings are that the ABS shoes fit pretty much true to size with sneakers. I wear a 13 in all sneakers regardless.. Now casual, dress, and some golf shoes (nike included) i have to wear a 12. I don't know what the deal is, but I would say just go with whatever you usually wear in a sneaker size

CharlieBrown -
did you end up getting shoes yet?  Just curious as I am in the same situation with Nike size 10.  Everything else is size 9 or 9.5 so I don't know what size to get in ABS.

Thanks.

CharlieBrown -

I ended up getting a pair of Linds PSS off of ebay.  The largest size they had was a 9, but I decided to take a chance.  Just got them today and they seem to fit me just right.  Some have reported that they are narrow in the toe, and I can sort of agree, but I don't have a very wide foot.  These feel just a little bit smaller than my size 10 Nike Air Monarchs.  Toe-wise they feel about the same (length-wise), but they are definately more narrow than the Nike.  I agree with Columbia4Life aka T4L about getting bowling shoes a little bit snugger than regular shoes - I don't do a lot of slidding in regular shoes.
