Title: Linds Shoe Comfort
Post by: baltimora on January 07, 2007, 10:45:38 AM
I have Linds XXXTra shoes that are supposed to be wide width. My little toe is starting to hurt frequently after I bowl. I have had these shoes since beginning of season so it isn't like it is a newness problem. Has anyone else had comfort problems with Linds and what brands are better for someone like myself who has small (9) but extremely wide (ie fat) feet? I had a pair of Linds PSS which I loved for comfort but lasted one season before coming undone.

Dexters tend to be wider than Linds, so you might want to look into them for comfort.  I wore Linds for years but had to give them up due to a bout of plantar fasciitis (I tried all sorts of inserts in my Linds to no avail).

I would suggest going to a pro shop to try them on before buying so you'll know they fit properly (whatever brand you plan to choose).

My most recent LINDS EXXXTra are Mexico made and are horrible, falling apart and I stick quite often even with the deerskin inserts. My feet hurt every night after bowling. I am looking to move to Dexter/Bruns/Dyno/Etonic/???
I need help too.

I have had linds for 5-6 years and have had no problem except the gold paint rubbing off the toe.  I am thinking about getting Dexter's also.  At the time lind was the only company that made size 14

I've had Linds since 1984 or thereabouts.

I am wearing a pair of Linds Exxxtras made in Wisconsin. When I heard they were moving to Mexico (and now I think they are made in China), I proceeded to buy a 2nd pair made in the USA. I still have the 2nd pair and am still wearing my original  11 Wides. I now wear an 11 1/2 EEEE, but the 11 EE MADE IN AMERICA are still comfortable. I will ocassionally buy a pair of sole inserts for them, but that's about it.

I tried a pair of Dexter's in 1997/8 time period, but they were already falling apart, after only 3 months of wear, even though they were made in the USA.  Haven't tried Dexters since; figure they're still crap.

Next when my 2nd pair of USA-made Linds wear out around 2025/2030, will probably be a pair of DynaRooz.

I use two pairs of Linds, one 10.5 EE purchased in 1989 and another pair 11 D purchased in 1997 that are still in great shape and feel great as well. I had a pair of Dexter's SST1 that lasted two years and came apart. I figure "if it ain't broke don't fix it."

I have 2 pair of Lind's Classics and they are uncomfortable.  I did not buy them for comfort but for the construction and durability.  I wear bowling shoes sometimes more than 8 hours a day.  I can not do it in the Lind's.  They have still benn fantasic shoes and worth every cent.  For comfort I wear Etonic ESL Classics.  I wear them at trade shows, coaching and while bowling.  Many days I wear them more than my street shoes.  The quality has been great.
