Guys, my SST6's have about 2500 games on them and I really need some new shoes bad. I've held onto them for so long since these have sentimental value to me as they are the shoes that my grandmom bought me before she passed. The problem that I'm finding with dexters in general is that even with the lowest heel/sole combination that I still end up sliding an inch or two which will throw me off at the line, especially when I am playing real deep(in front of the left channel & beyond) since approaches are always slicker out there.
Has anyone found a brand that is virtually impossible to slide with on their heel/sole combinations?

If your using the S2 brown sole you shouldn't slide much at all. You will need to take a wire brush every few frames...mabey less to acheive the stability at the line. That combined with the waffle heel it's pretty difficult to slide. The intent of this combination is to slide very little, but you will slide. You may or may not bowl at a house that replaced the 1-40 board part of the approach, but not in between the channels. This can cause slippage.
If you really don't want to slide at all, then get some tennis shoes.

Or buy new heels and soles?

You must have the slickest of all approaches. If the SST6 didn't stop you from day one you need to take the above advice of white soled tennis shoes.

I'm going to go with that, because our wood approaches are like Ice. Do soles have to be white or can they be clear? I have some clear rubber soles that I'd like to use.

Find a pair of Pumas, seriously you won't be able to slide. USBC says if you only use them for bowling you can use whatever you want.

if you dont want to slide get some water and a brush...put the water on the bottom of your shoe then brush it around a bit...you wont go anywhere

I second that a few weeks ago someone spilled something and i was unaware i was standing in it. I went to bowl and i went down. my slide is fairly long, so the sudden stopping dead made me fall over the line. Luckly i dont embarass easily and laughed it off. A few people asked what happened i told them and we shared a laugh at my expense
