For those of you who use Bowler's Tape, you could really do yourself a favor and invest $3 in one of the Master Tape Insert Tools. It is nothing more than a preformed piece of plastic, but it allows you to precisely align the tape right where you want it when you go to insert thumb tape. The two flexible fingers grab the side edges of the tape and hold it while you position the tape where you want it. The Tape Insert Tool beats the heck out of using a pocket knife or whatever to try to install thumb tape, and the tool makes it easier to stairstep multiple pieces of tape in the hole. It's a simple little gadget that allows you to install the tape, plus it has a pick that will allow you to remove one piece of tape at a time too.
If you frequently use thumb tape, then a Tape Insert Tool is a worthwhile investment. If your local Pro Shop doesn't keep the tape tools in stock, they can easily order you one in from the Master catalog.
