I gotta say, I was one person that said "THE TOWEL DOES NOT MATTER AS LONG AS IT CLEANS THE BALL". Boy want I wrong. used one of those DUSTING TOWELS by SCOTCHBRITE (any grocery store has them). Wiped the ball with my normal towel and then wiped it with the MicroFiber. There was alot more dirt/oil on the MicroFiber. Now, I use the ScotchBrite with a cleaner to clean it after bowling with it. During league use, I bought the Ebonite MicroFiber towel. With no cleaner, I just wipe the ball and go bowl. WORKS GREAT!!!

I really can not believe what a difference a towel can make. I have also noticed that when I use the solvent to clean the ball, it is not as dirty as it used to be. So I guess the MicroFiber towel is really getting the dirt off. But, did yours come with a cleaning guide? I did not get one and would like to know what i need to do to clean the towel. I know I need to wash it, but do I use cold or hot water, high heat or low heat to dry it? If you can answer these I would greatly appreciate it.

wash them by themselves; otherwise lint from other materials get on them and they're impossible to remove except with your finger tips, one at a bleeping time.
it's polyester blend so cold water is probably safest, although I've used warm water. Use no fabric softener in the wash cycle or those little towelettes in the drier cycle.
I got them for about $1 per towel from Walmarts, K-Mart, Costco, etc, in batches of 5 or 20. They're great for washing and drying cars and cleaning almost everything, incluidng buffing bowling balls after applying the polish.

Amen on that one. I bought a large bath size micro towel at Wal-Mart to dry the car with and it only takes me about a fourth as long or less to dry the car as it used to with a sheep skin shammy plus it does a way better job.

the one thing that no one is pointing out is that it helps to keep an eye out for the blend. A 70/30 blend is recommended.
I usually wash mine in warm water. Don't put it in with towels or rugs, as the damn things collect lint worse than fleece! I then just air dry the towel.

hi bowl119,
as squeeds had mentioned, the important factor in a microfiber towel is the
70/30 ratio. 70% being the microfiber and 30% being the polymide. if i'm not mistaken, polymide is an absorbing agent. this is the ingredient that actually "soaks up" the oil on the ball. a microfiber towel without the polymide is just basically a "soft towel."
different manufacturers produce different ratios, just take a look at the tags and you'll find the ratio to your liking.
hope this helps.

Those are nice. Hard to get them confused with the other towels during league.
I got a couple of "partial" packs on clearance for 66 cents! I think I ended up with 14 for $1.32! That makes up for the $10 I spent on the one from the pro shop!

Always wondered why pro-shops don't sell them exclusivley. Maybe because you can't embroider them?
