Joest Abrasives
« on: April 03, 2017, 08:08:37 AM »
Hi Everyone.  I am new to this site and would like to quickly introduce myself.  I am the importer and converter of Joest Abrasives into North America,  I saw a post here Mentioning the product and yes, Joest is the pioneer and inventor of foam backed abrasives such as Abralon.

The product we manufacture similar to Abralon is our Superfinishing SG line.  We make 3 versions of our Superpad SG products, Sg1 (more course and suitable for hard surfaces), Sg2 ( thin version of Abralon ) and finally Sg3 (same thickness of abralon).

Although our products may differ slightly in finish and cut rate compared to others, we certainly have a match for all your needs.  I would like to think we can offer very competitive prices for your abrasives.  We are also able to offer all sizes, including 5" which can surely reduce cost in comparison to 6".

You can visit my website or Joest Abrasives directly.  My website is www.abrasive-Ideas.com and of course Joest's is www.joest-abrasives.com.  I can also be reached by telephone at 226-787-5405.

We do have a distributor in New York for our discs but we are always willing to add to the family...

Cheers!

I've been using the SG3 pads purchased through your New York distributor. For the money, they're a good value. The SG3 pads don't last quite as long as Siaair, but it's hard to beat the price.

If I could make a suggestion, could you switch to a different ink on the back of the pads? The ink quickly disappears when washing out the pad in water. That forces me to use a Sharpie to mark the grit# of the pads for subsequent reference. That doesn't happen with Abralon or Siaair. It's not a huge deal, but still annoying.

Anyway, nice product.
