I have to wonder what is going on in the R&D department at Etonic. They still do not offer adjustable heels like their competitors 3G, Linds, and Dexter. There are many bowlers like myself who will not even consider a top notch bowling shoe that doesn't offer adjustable heels. I think Etonic missed the boat on this one.

Etonic was developing there interchangable heel, but something went wrong. I am not sure if the design was bad or if it infringed on dexter's patent. Remember dexter has the patent of the full heel being velcroed off. 3g has the patent of the triangle staying on the heel. Linds does not use interchangable heels, you can only change the dots. So now you see where the problem lies with Etonic. Its too expensive to use another company's patent, also why would another company allow you to use it. I believe Etonic was going to try a magnetic interchangable heel, but it never happened. Will they have an interchangable heel, who knows.

yeah. etonic had a variable adjust heel.. VHA.. I think you could change the angle of the heel to make it brake more or less..
they scrapped that plan a few different times..

I stayed away from etonic for the longest time because of the non interchangeable heel and the stories of some of their earlier shoes leaving rubber residue on the approach.. I finally broke down and bought a pair of the E-PRO ESS interchangeables and the shoes work perfect for me.. I tried dexter and 3g and could never get the right sole / heel combo.. somehow the static heel on my etonics works great for me and has worked at every house I have bowled in.. Atleast 6 or 7 different houses..
guess I got lucky.. but yes.. I would love to see an interchangeable heel.
I believe etonic has the best push off tech of any shoe..(not sure about the SST8s, haven't tried them yet) My SST6 and 3g soles would slip and squish on the push off shoe..just didn't feel stable..

I will say that that I did not like the stabilite pro etonics.. shoe was just too big and bulky at size 14..
