Trying a new brand of shoes!
« on: July 09, 2013, 10:58:20 AM »
After wearing Dexter's ever since the first year of sst 4's in 1995 and now using sst 6 lx. i'm going to try 3g sport ultra's. I've never really liked Dexter's but i liked the interchangable soles and heels. If Lind's would have ever come out with something similar i would have stayed with them. So let's give this new brand a try any opinions from people who've tried both brands is greatly appreciated. Thanks Jimmy

Both the SST8's and Tour Ultras have pros and cons. The fact is the two different shoes have a very different feel. It will be individual for everyone. The SST8's provide a more stable footprint. The Tour Ultras wear like slippers. There is no right or wrong with either. It's comes down to what feels better on your feet.

There is no substitute to understanding the needs of your feet (arches, pressure points, etc), trying both on, and then making a decision on which shoe best fits your game. There is no other logical way to decide.

I have worn both and both were good.  Currently using a 3G sole on my SST's.

Dexter supposed to have announcement AFTER the holidays on a revamped line in tripleE for wide feet.

Might be comfort coming for us with wide feet.

This is the best, most honest review...this is Exactly what I experienced.  I wouldnt mind something in between to be 100% honest here.

Oh,  what would make me happiest is to have a new pair of SST5s size 9Extra Wide left handed.

I have switched to a tight medium width pair lately and my bowling Is on a strong upward move.

Versus the toe cap on the Dexter SST8s and the 3Gs I love that soft toe piece on the SST5s that allows me to put down that soft toe on the trail foot and drag helping me get the arm in sync with the slide foot nearly every time!

The toe cap on the other hand goes skid bounce skid bounce I really don't like it!

The soft toe piece wearing down on the trail foot.   I don't care just sell replacements....my local shoe guy can replace easy!  He is used to seeing me all the time trying to create my own SST5s anyway....he is sick of seeing me!

Did the person with knowledge of a line of wides from Dexter know if that includes lefties or are we going to continue to be discriminated against!  Bwaaaaaaaahhhh!
