there is NO comparison whatsoever.

Tour ultras comfy, light and the same width as the SST8s,

I will never buy another pr of dexters.

solid at the line.. never once misstepped....

I will be in the market shortly for a NEW pr of ULTRAS

I bought SST 7's about two years ago. They have been good shoes. My only complaint is that they have stretched a bit more than I anticipated.

Otherwise, they have held up well and you can adjust the soles to get the slide combination you need.

the bowling center where i bowl my men's scratch league decided to resurface the wood approaches this week( way to go guys )and thus they were a lot slicker than usual. no problem....with 6 different soles and 6 different heels on my tour ultra's i simply changed heels and was solid all night. the guys who were wearing dexters couldn't find the right set-up and struggled with their slide all night. thanks again 3G.

Just ordered a pair of 3G tour ultras. Have to replace the linds that are 17 years old.

curious question, How does one go about getting their dexters replaced for free like some of you have?  Where do you go to do it?

I've gone through 2 pairs of the Tour Ultras. Well, actually I'm on my second pair. They are comfy, and I'm not complaining. The only thing, and I've seen this with my friends, too, is that the toe caps wear down really fast. I got mine around Christmas, and the toe cap is worn to the velcro already. This happened with my Sport Ultras when Dyno-Rooz was around.

Was an avid Linds guy for 21 years.  I needed a more adjustable shoe, my Xxtra's still slid too much on new synth approaches.  After reading this thread and a short discussion w/Greg Hoppe (thanks Greg!), I ordered up a pair of Tour Ultras.  Wow...fantastic shoe, used them for the first time tonight.  The Ultras have the adjustability I needed...while the #4 sole was a bit too much the #6 was full brake.  I ended up using the cleats...4 felt and 3 backskin, perfect combo.  The cleats are SOOO much better than those on the Linds....these actually fit flush.

I was very hesitant to order b/c I have a wide foot.  The Tour Ultras do stretch a bit and I had zero discomfort.  Very light and definitely stable!
