The Powerstep gives the traction shoe a wider base, so it looks different than your sliding shoe for sure, but frankly, who cares? It protects my shoe from coming apart at the toe, and gives me the traction I want. It's going to make any shoe look wider with an extra strap across the top whether it's a Brunswick, Dexter, or any other shoe. Being right handed, I line up with my left foot (slide foot) anyway so I rarely even look at it.
Every so often someone else asks me what that thing is on my right shoe and I tell them it's for traction. They are usually bowlers that wear shoes that have slide soles on both feet so it's foreign to even think that one shoe isn't the same as the other. I'm not intending this to be an advertisement for the Powerstep, but it does it's job for myself and others I know that use it.
