Opinions needed on 3G Sport Ultra's..
« on: September 08, 2009, 03:40:41 AM »
I am thinking about going to go back to the 3G shoes. I had a pair of the old ABS Tour Ultra's and liked them pretty well except the toe wear. I am thinking about dropping down and getting the Sport Ultra's.

If the only difference is less soles and heels to change out on the Sport Ultra's vs the Tour Ultra's, I am fine with that as I rarely change those anyways. I know the leather on the Tour Ultra's is kangaroo, not sure that matters to me either.

Can I get some opinions from users that have those shoes.

Thanks in advance.

I know 2 guys that went with the sport ultras mostly due to pricing..
They seem to love them...

Never hear them complain
There is a new color coming out on the ultras is a wine and grey color

I switched from Dexter SST6 LX to the Tour Ultra.  I found that the slide on the Tour Ultra was more consistent.  No complaints so far with the Tour Ultra.

i have both tour ultras, and sport ultras. the differences i found were the weight, and sole. the weight of the tour ultras is "ultra" light. haha guess thats why their tour "ultra's". i've had mine for about a year and i love them. however, the sole does give out on you a little for comfort, at least for me. it seems a little flat soled. also the stitching is coming undone and the toe cap has ripped in half, all due to my low approach and i slide my right leg on the ground.

the sport ultras are a little heavier in weight. took a while to get used to, but if weight doesnt bother you, these are a lot better. the soles in these feel fantastic on your feet. mine are only about a month old so the toe cap is still clean, but i can already tell its going to go down like an eraser. other then that, i feel its just color, design, and a little heavier. i currently use a sport ultra on the right and a tour ultra w/cleat soles on the left. using a gelly insole in both shoes. "Are you gellin?"

hope this helps!

if you want the best bowling shoe available then get the 3G tour ultras. their kangaroo leather is stronger and more supple than dexters cowhide and with up to six different soles and six different heels you'll be able to custom-tailor your slide. the construction and build quality is top-notch and in my experiences with both companies 3G's customer service is far superior.
