Black Tape Differences

The Black Tape situation is different than the White Textured Tape. I preferred the thin, brittle Columbia 300 black tape over the AMF tape, which was softer and had a slightly more tacky feel to it. The C300 tape, being very thin, allowed very minor adjustments.
Now that C300 is not making this tape, the remaining choices are very different.
The Ebonite tape is softer and kind of tacky like the AMF tape.
The new Brunswick tape has the same feel as the old C300 tape, but it's a LOT thicker, providing more coarse adjustments.
Anyone have a stash of the C300 tape (normally sold in the blue boxes) in 3/4" size that they want to part with?

I recently bought some Ebonite Black Tape and it wouldn't even stick to the thumb hole. It was a wee bit on the stiff side and not sticky at all. I then replaced it with some Storm black tape and that tape sticks so good that when you go to remove it, it comes off in pieces unless you stick it on the outside of your ball where the oily track is two or three times before putting it in the thumb hole. Doing that reduces some fo the stickiness, but still leaves it sticky enough to stay in the thumb hole. Overall, I seldon use black tape, but will on occassion now and then.

I am really old school.  I use a tape that was used before they came out with the black or white pre-cut pieces.  The one I use is a smooth light brown tape by 3M that comes in a large roll, 3/4 inch wide.  It used to be sold in proshops until the other tapes became available.  I still have two new rolls and one that is almost used up.  Not sure if it is available anywhere nowadays.

i have had some ebo tape that wouldnt stick at all and ive also had some that would stick and leave some horrible residue.

might wanna try the bowlers tape it seemed very thin to me.
