Not 100% what that is but id say its like a Nub grip only for your thumb.

We actually have a customer that likes it so much, we had to make a mold of it, cause our distributor never has them

There power taper thumb inserts.  These are the only kind I use.  I damaged my nerve at the base of my thumb back in 1997.  I quit bowling for a while because of it.  I then started using these type of thumb inserts when I got back into the game and have used them ever since.

I know some may think it causes one to hang up in the ball, not true!  In fact, it almost makes the thumb feel like it's an oval.  No hang up at all!

Just switched to something similar to that.. From Vise, ProV2 oval thumb insert..I love the feel of it..As of now, it got me away from having my thumb packed with tape to get a comfortable grip..
