You are in luck!

Lefty and I just got my SST8s.  Note my favorite pair of shoes so far has been my SST5s wide.  As you know lefties can virtually no longer find wides except in the SST8s.

I love the traction sole on the push off foot compared to my old 8 year old Dynarooz Sport version.

On the Slide foot.  I have found the newer number 8 slide sole to be too stiff compared to the old leather that used to come as a number 8.  Also the felt #10 or new microfiber version is too slippery.  Therefore just yesterday I installed the new split 10/8 (right from Dexter and my pro shop)which results in a 9.  I like it!

In addition I use some of my old Dynorooz heels with the opening for a post on my SST8s and they stay on just fine!  I have heard keeping your shoes in a hot car trunk is bad for the long term life of the Velcro.  I have reduced this practice.

I feel I am the best balanced I have been since my SST5s finally got worn out from my overuse!

PS I would think if you don't like the 10s or 9s from Dexter(I assume you like to slide a good bit with Teflon discs).  I wouldn't be surprised if you could use your old slide from your Dynorooz or get a new template sole that has openings from the discs from one of the online pro shops and you could recreate your Dynorooz slide exactly.
PPS I in the past have taken the #10 felt from Dexter since they went to real slippery and hit them with a wire brush sideways for about a whole bowling session to get them close to the 9s..  Also note that the new combo 9 from Dexter can be installed to have more #10 or more #8 on the sole based on your placement on the shoe and they way you cut/trim it.  Good luck.

I have a similar issue to Lucky, in that the #8 often is too much traction, and the 10 too little. I ended up using a Brunswick slide sock, but wearing it upside down. The nylon side gives a little more traction than the normal down side, and exposes a little of the sole.

The interchangeable soles are shaped the same so they work on either side. As to my use of the slide sock, I came up with that due to the fact that I was "between sole numbers" and this does the job.  It is also good for times when it's stickier near the gutter (shooting 10 or 7 pin), just reverse the sock. Many people, as Lucky said, cut the soles and combine them for custom slide needs.

You know they have an S9 sole which is a mix between an s8 & s10. I've been wanting to get that as Im between soles usually.

With appropriate credit and thanks to Charlest for the idea, I used a sole that provided too little traction and would never be used (ABS6 on my Dynorooz), bought Teflon discs on Ebay along with Velcro backing from Home Depot and a hole punch kit with the appropriate size. The discs were 1-1/8 by 1/16 inch deep and I used a hole punch size of 1-1/4. They work really well and have lasted for many months now. I just checked Ebay and don't see the seller listed, but if I find it again I'll drop you a note. I'm sure they can be found all over Ebay. There is one seller rubbermann7 that has something close.
