I may be "switching" back to Switch Grips from Vise IT in order to use a new driller. Looking for feedback on current generation Switch Grips, which I've been away from for at least 5 years.

If you believe the new driller will make a marked improvement to your fit and layouts, that should be your #1 priority. Nothing ranks higher than good feel.
 
Unless I had a high rev and high speed speed release, I wouldn't worry about the difference between the two systems. The "new" Switch Grips supposedly have stronger tabs, but it's still the same design. I find it interesting that Turbo has a disclaimer on how much force the tabs can withstand, and that normal wear dictates periodic inspection by your driller. To me, that doesn't inspire confidence, but based on your profile, you should be OK.

I use Turbo Switch Grips and I've never had any issue.  I would recommend to anyone. 

The new tabs on the Turbos do wear over time. I have been using Turbo for over three years and have had a couple of failures.

 
Which is acknowledged by Turbo. Kudos to the company for their honesty.
 
I used the original Switch Grips for several years before converting to IT. I had 2 failures in that time (single tab breaks), but otherwise the system worked fairly well.
 
The good news is that failures usually have warning. I could feel a tab starting to give before losing the sleeve unexpectedly. 
 
If my proshop guy hadn't converted to IT as his preferred interchangeable product, I'd probably still be using Switch Grips. As a medium rev player, I don't put enough stress on the sleeves to cause expected breaks. But in having made the change, there is no question that IT is a superior design. Everything else being equal, it's hard to make the case for Switch Grips. 

I am not knocking Switch Grips. I went with them because the start up is cheaper and they are easy to install. I have no regrets.

 
I'm not knocking them either. Given Lefty's tradeoff, going with Switch Grips is the right move.
 
Having an honest conversation about pros/cons of the two systems isn't bashing by any means.
