If you believe the new driller will make a marked improvement to your fit and layouts, that should be your #1 priority. Nothing ranks higher than good feel.
Unless I had a high rev and high speed speed release, I wouldn't worry about the difference between the two systems. The "new" Switch Grips supposedly have stronger tabs, but it's still the same design. I find it interesting that Turbo has a disclaimer on how much force the tabs can withstand, and that normal wear dictates periodic inspection by your driller. To me, that doesn't inspire confidence, but based on your profile, you should be OK.
