Bag comparison
« on: November 29, 2016, 12:19:53 PM »
I recently had a failure for the 2nd time on an Ebonite grand tour 3 ball roller.  Zippers on the top accessory pouch tear at the corners and get jammed.

Ebonite / KR is replacing the bag, but they tell me the grand tour is not available any more.  They want to give me the Equinox triple roller in its place.  Just wondering if anyone knows how these compare. I carry a lot of stuff and I am worried the top compartment won't hold my accessories.

I received the replacement Ebonite Equinox triple roller. This bag is in no way comparable to the grand tour 3 ball roller.  The Equinox is a horrible bag with shallow pockets and very limited pocket space.  I am a little upset that Ebonite would choose to send this bag as a warranty replacement for a far superior bag.

I mentioned my displeasure to ebonite and they told me that the Equinox is a better built bag and they haven't had any warranty issues with them, yet.  The bag has only been selling for 7 months.  It may be a better built bag, but the side pockets are almost useless being that the bottoms are sewn flush with the bag. They have very little volume.  The top compartments are very shallow as well.  If you have a lot of accessories, don't buy the Equinox.

Found another Grand Tour III online for $109.  Just going to sell the equinox on Ebay. I should come out pretty close to break even.
