Time for a shoe change.
« on: September 02, 2011, 05:29:10 AM »
I've had my sst6's for about 7 years, and I think it's time for a new pair. I would really like to try some 3G's, but the new Dexters look pretty fierce. Can anyone chime in and tell me what they think? I tried Etonics and they felt too clunky on my feet, and my Dexters feel like there's nothing on my feet at all.

Thanks!

My SST6 LX just started tearing on my slide shoe on the outside near the heel. The sole is starting to seperate from the rest of the shoe.

I was looking at the new black/red SST8 and they look sharp, but then again all the SST8s look good.

I'm in the process of trying to find out where I fit in the bowling world. I do not know my tech specs of my game, but it's all a learning process.

Just got the new SST 8 black/red shoes and used them for the first time last night and right out of the box I really liked the control the shoes provided.
This is my first changeable shoes, and so far I like what I am seeing.
Stick with the Dexters.

Everyone will like something different, personally I like my SST8's better than I liked my Tour Ultras.

I had Dexter SST6. They were comfortable but only lasted about 3 years before they feel apart. My friend bought the SST8's and they already split at the sole after a year and a half. After the Dex, I went with the Dynorooz Sport Ultra's and they're still holding up rather well after 4 years. I just bought a pair of 3G Tour Ultra's and they are like wearing slippers, even the 1st time you put them on. I'm sticking with 3G. IMO, there the best shoes on the market.

I have been using the Tour Ultras for the last 7 years....changed out the toe cap twice over the years due to wear.  Expensive shoes that are worth the money.

 +1.....

Had an opportunity to try the Tour Ultras, but I personally didn't like the feel of wearing a 'slipper' on the lanes. I like having the balance of comfort and overall superior foot support the SST8 provides. As far as wear, I have over 1000 games on my SST8s, and they're still in excellent shape.

But they're differemt types of bowling shoes, so try each one on and decide which one best fits your needs.

I had a pair of Dexter SST 5's and they didn't last a year before they were unwearable. I bought a pair of the ABS Tour Ultra's and I am just now replacing them after over 8 years. I bowl 20 or more games a week, so they I can vouch for the Tour Ultra's. IMO they are the best shoe on the market hands down.

I have a pair of Brunswick Classics that I bought Brand new right after they came out.  They were similar to SST 6's and cost about twenty bucks less.  I have had no wears issues yet and just recently had to replace some soles and heels.  The other bonus is they use replacement soles from dexter.  Their on closeout price right now, and I have been considering buying the Brunspro shoe
