Tour Ultras save the day
« on: January 10, 2007, 02:19:18 AM »
Our center decided that to address the complaints about tacky and sticky approaches, they'd put down a "treatment" to make them slide more.  I think the "treatment" was really "baby powder" because you could slide past the arrows if you weren't careful.

Those of us with interchangeable heels and soles were scrambling during practice to find something that would let us bowl on the legal side of the foul line.  I haven't really had to tinker with the heels and soles on my TUs, but boy, am I glad I had them last night.  Worth every penny, and I shot 644, about 100 pins over my average.

Thats one of the reasons why im getting new shoes. I played in an alley, where someone must have used talk, or baby powder. One lane could be sticky, when lane next to it would be like ice.

It's really kind of weird, though.  I tried the oiled leather and the backskin leather and stuck too much.  Like "faceplant" too much.  Tried the grooved heel and stuck too much.  I ended up with the flat heel and the chrome sole, which DT says will slide more than the regular deerskin and flat heel, but it didn't.  I think it was because my deerskin is so worn while the chrome hasn't been used.

Still, worked very well and I'm very glad I got a good pair of shoes.
