Got the new shoes and they do indeed say 7 2w on the actual shoe still. But when I hold them up to the old ones, the new ones are slightly longer. When I try them on, the left one seems like it might be a little long, but the right one feels a little tight for width, but OK for length.
I play tennis as well, and I have had a very difficult time buying tennis shoes that fit properly the last few years. I never had this problem when I was younger. It seems as I have aged my feet have gotten wider.
I think on the bowling shoes if I went to a 6 and a half 2EE it would be too narrow on the right foot. Perhaps a 6 and a half 2 EEE might work, but I don't know if they even make that size in that style of shoe, and even with the size protection insurance, you still only get one exchange. They could be worse.
I think I will try to bowl with the new shoes and make sure they are OK. Worst-case scenario is I might have to wear two socks or a thicker sock on one foot.
