Turbo 2in1 - new material
« on: May 08, 2005, 01:26:41 AM »
I just received 100 Turbo Power Oval (soft) finger grips from Bowler's Choice

Turbo changed the material of the inserts and the new one are definately not as soft as the old material.

I am very disapointed since I have to live with 100 insets for next 10 years. Anyone knows if the Prosport (Contour) grips is softer? I have blister in my ring finger so I prefer to have the softest finger inserts possible.

Thanks for your comment.

I'm not sure the material used, but I have used Vise, Prosport and Turbo in mine and my wife's balls. Just me....I like Vise, not sure if it's softer, just like the feel better. My wife, she likes the Turbo. Go figure, that means I have to keep more around of each brand, but I think it's a 'personal' thing, one likes Fords, one likes Chevys, one likes Dodge...for me, it's Vise all the way.

I know this hasn't helped, probably, but just my 2 cents worth.

I didn't use Turbo because for me, both Pro Sports Contour Power Grip AND Vise Grips were softer. I still prefer Pro SPorts Super soft ovals to anything else.

You guys do realize that there were (possibly still are) 2 different Turbo grips. They did have the soft and firm. I don;t know if they still do or not but the Turbo Quads I am using are about the softest insert I have ever felt short of the original Vise blue silicones.

Yup, there are many selections of each. HOWEVER, both the Turbo and the Vise-Grip websites sucks in so far as proper and well-described information regarding the various permutations of their products. (I kind of liked the Silicon(e) grips, whosever they were, but when you need a special glue to make them stick inthe holes, that's absurd.) When they won't even reply to emails unless you're a pro shop, I draw the line.

I found the Pro SPorts Contour Power grip super-soft oval were good and I stuck with them after attempting to learn about other grips. (always searching for the ideal, but sometimes you have to remain satisfied with what you've got when it works well.

Is there a way to tell what type you have just from looking at the outside of the inserts?  I've noticed that some of my inserts feel better than others and now you guys have me wondering if they are different types.  I do notice that some are considerably harder than others - I don't remember which ones feel better (I'll have to get all the balls out tonight and compare them!), but I'm getting ready to order some on-line and I might be disappointed if I end up with ones that don't feel good.
