VISE Hada Patch Tape
« on: January 25, 2018, 08:53:17 AM »
Does anyone know if there is VISE tape, in a roll, that is similar in feel to the VISE Hada Patch (blue) pre-cut tape?  Love the feel of these pre-cut strips, but they start to peel on me after a game.

Try cleaning your finger with a alcohol patch before you apply the hada patch. It will hold till the cows come home.

I've never had issues with the hada patches. Like what was said above me, using an alcohol wipe will dry out the area so it sticks better if you have oily skin on your thumb

They HAD rolls of Hada Patch before they had the strips. For me the pre-cut strips  stuck to my skin MUCH, MUCH better than pieces cut from the roll. So much so that I gave up completely on the rolls and have only used the strips for the past 8 - 10 years. I still have the last remnants of that roll, sitting unused.

Given the force with which I need to use to remove Hada patch strips from my thumb, I'd strongly suggest that either something is seriously wrong with the strips you have or something is very wrong with the skin on your thumb.

Make sure the strips are not too old to be used and clean your thumb with alcohol before applying the strip OR use Benzoin tincture to coat that area before applying the strip. Benzoin tincture can be attained from almost any decent pharmacy.

Agree with all of the above.

I personally only use the pre-cut, tried the rolls to save money but they never stick as well, not sure why. The pre-cut ones hold up all day long for me, never have peeling issues, they are fantastic.

I use the rolls and don't have much issue with them not sticking. For best results, I make sure to wash/dry my hands first, but even without, I usually don't have a problem. No alcohol required. Turbo tape does not work as well for me though. I use two pieces to cover more of my thumb, so the rolls suit me better.

To make tape adhere better to skin, try Compound Tincture Benzoin.

From Wikipedia:

Compound Tincture of Benzoin (CTB) is often applied to skin before applying tape or other adhesive bandages. To some degree, it protects the skin from allergy to the adhesive in the tape or bandage, but mostly it makes the tape or bandages adhere much longer.
