Best bag for bad back
« on: June 01, 2009, 02:53:04 AM »
I have had some back issues unfortunately and recently had surgery as I found out a Hernia was causing my problems.  I usually wheel a slim triple tote and carrya double tote into league, for tournaments I carry another double tote....My wife is insisting I get something to roll more bowling balls to do less lifting, please advise! I like to 4 ball rollers but then I have to lift it so whats the point of those, was thinking of the stackable 4 ball rollers...price isn't an issue want whatever is best for my body!!!!

I have a herniated disc in my lower neck, so I have dealt with similar issues with bags.  I have the Storm Rolling Thunder 4 ball bag.  It is very durable and has three large wheels, which help keep it more stable.  I have had mine for 5 years with no issues.  It is a great bag.  I hope this helps.

Thanks
Chuck

I agree with the Storm Rolling Thunder.  I have had mine for about 2 years and have not had any problems with it.  Mine is a little different from cd's, as mine has only 2 wheels, but it is very stable, and since the top comes apart from the bottom, you are lifting 2, 2 ball totes (but just a little heavier due to the extra materials like the wheels and handles).  Before you buy, try and ask someone if you could try and lift their bag, just so you can feel the weight before you buy.  A lot of people have this type of bag, so finding someone to help you out should not be a problem.  I also sometimes carry an additional 2 ball tote, which I rest on the top of my bag and secure it with the handles around the pullup handle of the roller bag.  I also have some back problems as well, and carrying around even 2 ball totes on my shoulder hurts after a little while.

Kr 4 ball lane rover. The bag has 2 straps 2 lock top bag in place. I've had mine for 6 years and no problems expect 4 my drunken stupidity. If you have problems kr fixes or sends you part 2 fix bag.

I have an extremely bad back. The KR 4 ball roller is a great answer - as long as you have room in your vehicle for it with the handle. Be sure to check it out EMPTY before you buy it.
When it's loaded, it can be a bit much to maneuver into a tricky cargo area when your back hurts.

Just to clarify what ucumin2 and mumzie stated...I am assuming that you are talking about this bag? http://www.bowlingball.com/kr-bags-lane-rover-4-ball-roller-bowling-bag.html

KR has another bag which I think is very similar but not really for sure what makes it different from the above mentioned bag.  http://www.bowlingball.com/kr-bags-eliminator-4-ball-roller-bowling-bag.html

Material and bag composition seem to be pretty much the same...was looking at getting a 3-4-5 bag but information gathered from here has led me to purchasing one of the KR bags.  Just holding out till I know which one will work the best for my needs.  Any thoughts?

Don't mean to hijack the thread but since they brought up the KR bag I thought I would ask.

+ 1 Storm Rolling Thunder for me also. Seems they never wear out.

My KR is about 7 years old, I think. Works great.

My advice for the 3 and 4 ball bags is to pay the little extra and get the heavier frame and wheels. Over time you'll be glad you did.

The KR Lane Rover is probably the best in my opinion for the money. My Brunswick Pro Player is the same bag (made by KR) with different logo and I've been using it for 4 years with no problems. Both bags have a 5 year warranty.
