What shoes to get?
« on: April 11, 2008, 05:39:58 AM »
I am looking at needing new shoes for next season. Every pair of Dexter's I have had the velcro on the front seems to get very weak to not even holding the pad on. I am thinking of trying a different company. What do you feel is a better choice between Etonic and 300G and why do you feel that way? I had looked at the DT shoes years ago are they close to the same as the 300G shoes are now? I don't know if I want to try another pair of Dexters or not. I currently have the SST 5 comforts.

3G's and DT's are the same shoe. I like mine very much. A friend raves over the newest Dexter SST 7 SE. I never heard anything bad about Etonics.

Dynorooz changed to 3G when Columbia was purchased by Ebonite and Ebo got the Dynothane brand.  Phil (newguy) retained the shoe line and the shoes became 3G or 300G.

I've got a pair of Tour Ultras and they're fantastic.  Very comfortable, mine still look new, going on two years old.  You cannot go wrong with a nice pair of TUs, best shoe you can buy.  I got mine from tekneek, he should be able to hook you up.

I knew that about the DT/300G shoes. I guess the question I should have asked about them is. Are they the same style? Did they change at all? I know that sometimes things change slightly when a new company takes over.

DT/3G = No changes to the shoes, other then the logo.

I love my 3G Tour Ultra's.  Far superior in every way compared to my Dexter SST 7's.

Just the logos because Ebonite got Dynothane and Dynorooz name rights in the deal.

If you do buy the D/T-ABS shoes, remember that they are not PBA registered and if you plan on bowling any regionals or TQR's you must have the 3G's. With that said, I have the Tour Ultra's and they are the best shoe I have ever owned.

Too bad they don't give mulligans in bowling!

No need to worry about that. I don't bowl many tournaments let alone any PBA stuff.

if you are looking for the best bowling shoes available on the market get the 3G tour ultra's. great comfort, great construction, great sliding options. every other bowling shoe is second best.

I've never used anything other than Dexter. Currently own a pair of SST 7 SEs. Can't really complain much about it, except that I agree with Drrev2000, that its quality has gone down over the years. A lot of bowlers in my centre are sporting the Tour Ultras. They look like a good bargain, and those bowlers are just raving about the shoes. Go get a pair! I'm sure you won't regret it!

Thanks guys. The 300G shoes are looking like I will try to get.

Do they run the same size as Dexter or close to anyone know?
