Title: What Shoes Would you Recommend to a Fat, Talentless Lefty?
Post by: fleezy on March 24, 2016, 04:16:20 PM
I know that there are many reviews and opinions about shoes and I have tried to read them all.  But I'm still going to ask for your help.

I'm a left-handed, 6'3", 240 lb. lefty who carries a 214 average in 2 THS leagues.  I like to slide a little and drag my right toe.

I'm throwing 15-16 MPH at the pins (I know, not very accurate)

I consider myself a tweener and my favorite balls are a DV8 Reckless and a Storm Hy-Road.

I loved my 11.5 3G Shufflers but they fell apart at the beginning of the year and are discontinued.

I bought a pair of Etonic shoes a couple years ago because I got them for $30 and they came with a total of three S6 soles, so it was cheaper than buying new S6 soles at the time.  When the Shufflers died, I broke out the Etonics and liked them however, they are glued together, the glue is failing, and so is the Velcro on the bottom toe of my slide foot.

I wanted to get a pair of 3G Tour Ultra shoes but they seem to be out of stock or on back order on the various sites.  Or, they are considered closeouts and no exchanges or returns are allowed.  Not sure, but maybe 3G is discontinuing them???

Anyway, I need a new pair of shoes, even though it's the end of the season.

I value durability and comfort the most, especially the durability part.  I don't mind paying but I want a shoe that lasts.

So do I go ahead and order the Ultras without a chance to return them or order something else?

Any Suggestions???

My suggestion would be buy yourself a good pair of sneakers that your comfortable wearing on a daily basis. Take them into shoe repair store and have them fitted with leather soles. Or, they can fit them with velcro so you change out S6 soles.
Reason for doing this is bowling shoe suppliers are not manufacturing shoes for left handers as they once used to. Even if you order shoes the lead time is 2 months before your order is even considered.
You also may want to check with Linds. Call them direct.

These may not help your bowling, but they would be good for a few laughs.
