What is the best tape to use to apply on your thumb?

Vise Hada patches. Use #1 for quickest release progressing to # 4 for the slowest release. The number one ( Blue tape is much smoother while the number 4 tape ( grey ) has much more friction.

Vise-Grips Hada Patch tape are the ones I settled on after lots of experimentation. I use the blue (#1) and the Red (#2)

the vise hada patches are cool cause they're already cut out. however they do leave a sticky ressadue on your thumb if you take them off. i have a better feel with the vise tape that comes in a roll. the red one for me is the way to go.

But because if that "sticky residue", the Hada Patch tape stays on for 5 -10 games, almost no limit. It never peels off at the edge as the roll does.

true but does not handle well when the weather is hot and thumb swells not because of gripping or anything but because of the heat. i've had to take the patch off because my thumb wouldnt fit with it on (i like my thumb holes tight ] ) at least with the rolls, its the same price and you get more tape as well. those hada patches could get pricy if youre only using them for a 3 game league. the roll tape lasts maybe 3-5 games i admit, but because its cheaper, just cut out another one. thats my take at least.

I use the black Turbo tape.  It's thin, gives a quick thumb exit, and lasts on my thumb plenty long.  I've bowled 10 game tournaments and it's made it all the way through.  You have to cut it yourself, but a roll will last me a season bowling two leagues and tournaments once a month.

You need to use white tape in the thumb hole to adjust for sizing, not thumb tape.

I have used various tapes and have settled on the Vise Hada patches.  Blue or red.

I currently use the Red Hada Patch, but hopefully going to give the new Turbo pre-cut strips a try.

I suggest trying ALL types of tape until you find which tape is best for you. I use white tape in 3/4" and 1/4" for fit. I have tried the VISE thumb tape and didn't like it, but you may like it. Tape is just another reason to try different things at your practice with ALL different types of tapes, balls, soles, and different heels.
