I've used masters and storm tapes and I find the storm white tapes to last about 6 to 9 games before I start losing the feel. But this tape for me during the summer is great! Not too "sticky".
The masters, I find better used during the winter. It holds better and last a little longer. but the batch I have seems harder to remove a single tape when I have a tapered layer. And during the summer, I fidget more with this brand than I do with the tape from storm. Masters tape for me gets too tacky in the thumb hole and I snag a lot.
I am out of Masters, and I'm going to donate the rest of the roll of Storm tape to the guys at league. Only if I can find a brand fits my needs.

The Brunswick brand white tape seemed to hold up pretty well for me. Better than the Storm and Ebonite variations at least. Haven't tried Master. I use the silver Real Bowler's Tape now since it's thinner yet still really durable but I wouldn't hesitate to go back to the other one if needed.

Coor - Would you say the Real Bowlers Tape is the thinnest tape you've used? My Hy-Road pearls thumb slug is just so smooth inside that I can have grip issues. The fit is good so I don't want to modify it too much with thick tape but need a touch of abrasion to prevent slipping.

Not quite as thin as the slick black tape but otherwise yes. The newer thumb tape from Turbo (blue and pink specifically) is thin but I think Real Bowler's Tape is a hair more so.

+1 Vote for Real Bowlers Silver Tape and the Blue Tape.. I like the texture, thickness, and adhesive.. Doesn't leave residue behind that I used to get with other brands.. Also, make sure you are changing your tape every 3-6 games as oils can build up and cause the tape to lose effectiveness.. As you grab your ball, oil can transfer from the ball to your hand to your tape and natural body oils/sweat, etc....

Oddly, on the same note, I just tested some Storm white thumb hole tape, in the cute little red box. I kind of liked it; it was slightly different from the Masters brand I have been using for 20 years. So, I thought I'd pick some up.
I ordered a big roll of it, 500 pieces. Here's the irony:
When I got the big roll, it was all but identical to Masters tape except for having the Storm logo on the back instead of the Masters logo.
The storm tape in the red plastic box had a larger white wax paper surface and slightly more texture than the Masters tape. Not huge difference but a noticeable difference. Yet the roll I got was the same.
Not sure which is the newer Storm tape. Storm had purchased Masters a few yers ago and their products are not approved for use at PBA events, where before the Storm takeover, they were not approved.

powerhouse (EBI) tape is significantly thicker than others. Brunswick tape is good but feels more grippy.
Best i've found is the real bowlers tape. thin and not with an extra aggressive feel

that's interesting info you shared sir. thank you. Also, does your storm tape that's similar to masters have a firmer feel too? The storm tape I have, is much "flexible" vs. the masters. It can bug me at times, for it can curl at the bottom of the hole, the storm tape that is.
I got my storm rolls from the PSO at the AMF house I bowl. He was told to move a year before the take over and said he'll re ordering new supplies. Less to pack across the state where he was moving. So I had these rolls for a long while now. I'm on sure if garage temperature changes had anything to do with it, but the roll was kept inside a metal money box inside my craftsman tool box. Anyway, the feel on the storm tape is "smoother" or flatter than the masters I had.

You're never going to have any idea how old a tape roll is as they don't sell that many. Who knows how long it could have been sitting on the shelf of the distributor. If you get current supplies you are going to find the Storm and Master the same.

Nope, they look and feel identical, near as I can tell. The Storm tape in the small red plastic box was slightly different, but I don't recall as I went thru the box with no problems. That was why I felt safe in ordering the new huge roll of 500. Since they're the same as the Masters, I had no complaint with the seller.
