Averages of Scratch Doubles Bowlers

I was wondering what all of us are currently averaging and averaged for last year.

Im bowling in 5 leagues...2 that arent posted online, 3 that are.

The 2 that arent, I am averaging 240 in a scratch league and the other is a travelling league in all MUCH tougher houses than I have ever bowled in. Im at 215 or so in that league bowling every other week. I didnt bowl in either of these league last year.

The other 3 leagues are as follows:

229 in a scratch league at a house where I struggled last year and averaged 218

219 in a handicap league with my dad (who is injured) and my mom (who is blind) part time. Lets just say I pay very little attention to what Im doing in this league. See also: 140-something the last game this week thumb in. Same house as Wednesdays the previous league. I averaged about the same thing last year.

228 in a Mixed Handicap League with head to head points. The handicap is based off 210---most of my matches are against other who are bowling scratch. I averaged 237 in this league last year. This is the league I use for the Ballreviews doubles league.

So I bowl 5 leagues in 3 different houses and a travelling that goes to houses that I have never bowled in before. Fun stuff.

Well this is a bowling website which attracts bowlers from all over the U.S. as well as some other countries. The group of us that signed on for the BR Scratch Doubles is from a large pool of bowlers. Much larger than any one single house or even town can offer. And it is also scratch which would scare away most novice bowlers. I believe since there is really nothing at stake, people are posting their real scores.

We have some darn good bowlers on this site and some of the best ones are in this league. I'm proud to be crossing with them. Cyber crossing that is.

My BR league >> http://leaguesecretary.com/LeagueFiles.aspx?LID=31608&IFTID=1
Bowl.com >> http://members.bowl.com/SearchUSBC/ViewMember.aspx?prefix=1635&suffix=38249

Nothing much to look at though... ^^

Wow. Your mom has a higher average than my wife and my wife can see. Oh yeah, my wife's average was less than 100 last season and that was NO TAP!

I'm up about 20-25 pins this year.  New equipment + more level headed = higher average game for me.  I've practiced very intensely with this new stuff once my stuff was stolen right before the season started.  I am way more comfortable and versatile on the lanes than ever right now, and I'm keeping a steady 230 average for the most part.

No, Bowl.com does not reflect any of this.  I have no achievements and I've yearbooked 200-210 for years.

But I don't feel I really need to defend myself in this matter. I've held my own on the lanes against the best this city has to offer.  And that's prize enough for me.

Kudos to all you super bowlers out there. I have always posted my real scores.

I am bowling in three different leagues this year, with three disticnctly different oil patterns. I gusess that's why i suck this year!

One house is unmistakeably dry! The other house fluctuates between med/hvy and lite oil and the house that I post my scores from is medium to medium heavy.

I guess i'm struggling cause I'm not making the transition from one condition to the next, as smoothly as I have in the past. If I can manage to get back to the 190's, I'll be happy. I haven't even sniffed a 700 this year!!
