The NSA is for No Superman Allowed.

Post 'em as you rolled 'em.
It's anyone's barrel this week.

Well, the new stuf doesnt work in the wood house either, so after 2 games I desided to just throw the plastic, and unless an old Hammer finds its way into my hands, I will stay with plastic until I am back on synthetic lanes.

I did however bowl pain free tonight with the new 15# equipment, so that is a good thing.

129 127 155 = 411

Time to take the game to the next level, and for me that means I am still dog paddling, but not as hard. (I hope)

It was a Stormy night in Burbank.  2 of us were rolling Storm equipment and out of 6 bowlers we had 8 200+ games. Combining that with our anchor's blind of 202 we had 11 200+ games.

No, I was not the one sub 200 on the team.  We were also working on a team step ladder 859-858 needed an 857, but settled for a 777.

Our lead off hates to be beaten by a female.  So, being the kind, considerate, female I am  I had to beat him all 3 games  232-223-213=668 to his 200-208-203=611

Okay enough of my ramblings.

Ed, don't completely give up on the new equipment, sometimes it takes time to trust the new stuff.  My last new ball took me a few months to get to the point I knew what to expect from it and trust it.  I would take it out and give it a few frames each week, plus practice sessions.  Now it is my go to ball at Pick Wick.

Okay TP, which 3 nights did you pull these scores from ?

Seriously, way to go!

Ed, it took me 6 months to learn how to throw my Super Carbide Bomb. It wasn't the ball mind you, it was all in the operator. I think you are better than that, please don't prove me wrong.
Don't worry about wood or synthetic lanes, just concentrate on what the ball is or isn't doing. Go "back to basics", so to speak, if you need to. Remember what you learned with Lynn and apply it as needed.

Good Luck!

Debs, thanks.  It was nice to break 600 again and see the average go up rather than down

PK, I see jealousy rears it's ugly head again

SrKegler, PK is actually hitting and breaking 500 on a consistent basis.  I think it was the lessons he got in St Louis

Hell, I just realized soemthing.
From Friday till Monday, I drove over 600 miles, and bowled 14 games in 3 houses. I am suprized I was able to score what I did this week for the barrel.
No wonder I am sore and stiff this morning. Gotta rest up and be ready for next weeks play time.
The new balls work great. In retro, they did something totally different in all 3 houses. First house was oily with fairly clean backends, second house was light - dry, third was my slimmy wood with no traction hardly at all.
Dang, that had to be the bussiest weekend Ive seen in a long time.

All I have to say is:
I Really Suck !!!!

278 - 152 - 113 = 543

Did score 1 CPL, though.
And she didn't even get mad when I beat her at darts.

I just realized that I have been so overcome with my poor bowling that I really don't show the respect to you folks who really do have it together. For this I am sorry and will try to improve my social skills.

TP........Great set!!!!!

Winny.....If I could only be so good!!!

PK........Your sucking dude, must be doing it on purpose huh, to allow me half a chance???

Actually Ed, it is just raw talent for me.
Who else do you know that can go from a 278 to a 113?

I have to stop drinking so much beer and start adjusting more.
Once I take first place in this thing, then maybe I will ease up alittle bit.
But, that may be when everyone else is already out of the barrel.

168-170-200=538  Started with the usual ball, but it just wasn't rolling well.  I went to the Blue Hammer, that usually works when the PDW isn't working.  It wouldn't drive the pocket.  Great ball if I want to practice 5 pins.

Went back to the PDW hoping the lane had transitioned...it hadn't.  I couldn't remember what the Vicious would do.  I haven't used it much since the end of summer league.  It was the ball to use.  Started with a double, 9/ to finish the 2nd game and started with a double for the 3rd game.  Should have changed sooner...ah that old hindsight.

PK, nice 1st game and great average adjusting with the 3rd game.  I guess you didn't  want to lose too much handicap.

I didn't bowl Thur or tonite.  I seem to have the flu.  Ugh!
If I feel good enough to bowl Sun, I'll use that league instead for this week.

PK - Next time you shoot a big score the first game, take a blind for the next two games.   You just wonder how you can have it going and then lose it so fast.

Thanks one and all.  It was a sweet shot and a good match for me.

Ed don't feel bad, I have been there myself.  Struggling and caught up in what to change or do to improve.  I am sure we have all been there at least once in our bowling.  I have many times been struggling and questioned what am I doing wrong.  I have even come close to calling it quits.  If you're ever in the LA area, let me know.  I'd enjoy bowling a few games with you.

With the permission of the barrel group, I'd like to change leagues I am reporting scores from.  I chose this league since I expected to struggle since it is a new house for me.  I have found the opposite is true.  I have never had, or even been close to a 196 ave after 10 weeks of league.  I would like to use my Tuesday night league in which I am currently at a 175 ave.

This league is at my home center, but they have been playing with the shot making it a greater challenge than the other center.  I assume there will not be any opposition, so, as of next week, I will be reporting my Tuesday league scores.

TP, it's okay with me if you change leagues.

Here are my awful (at least for 2 games) scores:

169-206-159 = 534

I think I have tendonitis in my ring finger -- it's killing me, but not while I'm bowling, just afterward.

Debs, just to make you feel better.  Here's how my weekend bowling went.  Last night was a Pro-Am, no-tap and 3-6-9 (strikes given in the 3rd-6th-and 9th frames).  Game 1 I am being stubborn.  The PDW is coming up too high no matter how fast I roll it or how far right I move.  My instinct is to pull out the Blue Hammer, but I resist and wind up with a 189.  I quit being stubborn and pull out the Blue Hammer and shoot 242-253.

Then, I bowled a no-tap tournament at a different center today.  The lanes were bone dry, as a friend put it the right handers were playing on lane 28 and hitting the pins on lane 20. My version, playing on lane 28 and hitting the pins on lane 32 (that is tha last lane in the house).  Anyhow my lovely no-tap scores were 169-170-186 and a 525 series.

Still didn't feel well.  Had to use plastic on the left land and dull reactive on the right lane.  Do you think maybe they had open bowlers on the left lane before league???  At least I got better each game, like that means anything.  Here's my miserable scores....

159 - 168 - 182 = 509
