Nationals, female participation
« on: February 06, 2005, 03:27:50 AM »
One of our team members is not going to make the trip, have a female bowler lined up to replace him. We have average verification from our local association, but she does not have a "ABC" card. Is a "ABC" card required, and are they available at the tournament site?

Interesting question. I suggest you go to BOWL.com .. they provide loads of info on the ABC and you can also send questions via email. Hope it works out for you!

Yes, she needs to be ABC sanctioned to bowl ABC Nationals.  I'm fairly certain she can sanction at the site.

If there is enough time she can also sanction through her current league, unless it is a women's only league.  She can also submit an ABC sanction application through any league that ABC sanctions even if she doesn't actually bowl in the league.

As long as her league is a mixed league, she can just pay through her league.  I have duel sanctioned for the last 4 or 5 years.  At the start of the season, I fill out both cards pay my $15 to the women and $16 to the ABC.  This year I got to pay an additional $9 for sport sanction.

It sure will be nice to pay only the USBC  single sanction.  Though the men and women haven't come to agreement on merging locally, so there will probably be some additional local fees.
