5 balls, which to shoot?
« on: March 04, 2005, 02:14:22 AM »
okay here is my problem, I never know which ball to throw. I see other guys come into league, throw a few balls and know exactly which one they need to throw. I currently have a four ball arsenal. I have a Brunswick Goliath, Hammer Real Deal, Brunswick Blazing Inferno, and Storm Vertigo.  I tried to cover all the bases and I have bowled best with the Inferno and Vertigo (only 6 games old). My question is, how do you go about making the call on which ball to throw. Any and all opinions welcome, thanks in advance

I am not familar with the balls you listed, so the best thing to do is try all of them at the same time to learn and compare their reactions and rate them from strongest/biggest hooking, to weakest/least hooking.  Then, in league or tournament, start with a middle of the road ball.  If it is not hooking enough, you know which ball to turn to for more hook.  Same if it is too strong, you know which is weaker.  Some people like to have a benchmark ball to start with so they can read the oil pattern.

Hopefully, someone who knows those balls will chime in with some more info for you.

You have 3 hvy oil balls and 1 dry lane ball.

Heavy oil- Golith solid particle, Real Deal-cut throat particle peral and a Vertigo-very aggressive solid reactive.
med-hvy-???
med-lgiht-?????
light-blazing inferno.

You need something inbetween all those balls.

Practice, Practice, Practice.......

Seriously, the only way you you get better at raeding lane conditions and knowing what to throw is my practicing as much as you can and by bowling in different houses.  Over time you will get the experience and it will get easier.  Trust me.
