Fingertip Grip?
« on: February 08, 2007, 09:42:26 AM »
Hey, I'm a new bowler here and I've been told that a fingertip grip is better for hooking and I'm looking to get my first ball. I'm inexperienced, and trying to learn how to hook. But I've only ever used a ball with conventional drilling and I'm worried a fingertip grip won't work for me. Is fingertip holes really all their cracked up to be? Is it worth trying?

Also, what do you think I should get as my first ball? A vibe? Tornado? Power Groove? Etc?

I would start with a groove or a tropical storm something in the entry level range.

I would suggest you try the fingertip. If you are wanting to try and hook the ball it is better to have fingertip.
Maybe talk to a few of the better bowlers to see where a good proshop is. Or ask on here where a good shop in your area is.
A proper fit is very important. The proshop guy should make sure that the ball is comfortable and comes off your hand properly. see if they will maybe give you a few tips aswell

Hope you have success.

If you have any questions just post them on here and you should find your answers
