Adding to my arsenal
« on: February 21, 2008, 01:11:28 AM »
Hey everyone...I've been bowling for about a year now and am looking to purchase a new ball.  I'm currently using a storm sure fire and am looking to add something a little more reactive.  My ball speed is usually 17-18 mph and I would say medium rev.  House conditions tend to be on the oily side as well.  Something with more backend but still controllable is what i'm looking for.  Any suggestions???

The Sure Fire is already a stronger pearl reactive ball. If you want a good addition, and this is your only ball at the moment, then I'd suggest:
a) a spare ball - any polyester ball will do, and they are cheap, for those pesky corner pins
b) a lower RG solid reactive or particle ball, with a higher RG differential (0.04" up) and without a polished surface that will, with the proper setup, handle more and longer oil, roll earlier and have a smoother reaction shape overall.
For the latter, I'd suggest a look at Storm's Agent line, the Special or Secret Agent if you want to stay with this company. But other companies have similar offerings

I got the no mercy beat'n and i like it alot, has lots of lenght and alot of backend. The only problem is that its like a sponge, it soaks up alot of oil but other then that it works great for me.
Hope this helps.

If at first you don't succeed use a bigger ball.
