What should I look for
« on: December 12, 2023, 02:26:42 PM »
Just went to the Lanes across the border to try and get some numbers nd here's what I have.
They have OpenLane so showed my speeds on release to the arrows and 14-14.5 gave me os movement that struck but natural feeling swing was 16-17mph that fel comfortable.
I have a Hyroad sanded to 2000gr
Think found my PAP through video which is 5 3/8x 7/8 up  and axis tilt and rotation is about 40 and 40 with widest flare rings being 3.25" now nd 11." 1 side to other across mid grip.  Watched video from JR Proshop which states my high axis tilt I should use stronger Asymmetrical ball with higher flare layout.
I don't bowl leagues we just go for fun on fridays and avg 190's when trying to pick up spares with same ball which opens kill thise 215-225 games. Just want a ball I can have stronger back end that doesn't limit me to trying to shoot slow 14-14.5mph just to move 5-7 boards

Unless you use where your PAP is after leaves hand and touches lane then im at 15-20* lt and 50ish Rotation. The 40 and 40was from me doing overlay template just as fIngers cleared holes in air but once touched down was able numbers

15-20 tilt and 50 rotation sounds more likely.

Yes, asymm cores do get recommended more with higher tilt. I've also been a fan of recommending large core symmetrical balls as I feel those also fit well (i.e Roto Grip TNT Infused, 900 Global Zen or Sublime)

Honestly, if all you do is open bowling, I'd look for something in the mid to upper-mid categories. Find something you like the look of and is a price you're willing to pay. The few I mentioned above are stronger than a HyRoad, but there's a lot of options that would be stronger than that
