Hi guys,
I am new to the sport/hobby of bowling. I need some advice.

My friend recently gave me a Columbia300's Quake, can I check with you guys that the ball is more reactive in dryer then oiler lane conditions, it seems that it doesn't hook much/at all when I play in medium/oily lanes.

I am also thinking of getting another ball, is the radical inferno/Pearl Cherry bomb recommended?
Or should I go slow with balls that are less aggressive such as the strike zone?

That ball is over 10 years old, it's probably not ever going to be much more than than a light oil ball.

For a more modern ball, look into the Jolts from Storm, Planets from Rotogrip, maybe the Rampage, Ambush, or Power Groove from Brunswick.

I don't know many people who would say that the SZ is less aggressive than Radical or PCB.  I don't know that any of them would be especially good balls for beginners, as good as they all are.  An entry-level or mid-priced ball will be more than enough.

After 10 years of use, the Quake might also be soaked with oil and a ridden surface, and therefore have lost reaction.
You might ask your pro shop to make an oil extraction and a resurfacing on it, it will surely improve the ball's performance - if you have not already done so?
