Buy a new ball
« on: March 05, 2019, 09:45:06 PM »
I started bowling recently(about 1.5 months ago). I am a 2 handed lefty bowler. I usually bowl at 2 different centers and average about 155-160. I am still working on my form and timing. Currently I am using Columbia Yellow dot which is urethane coverstock. I do decently good at one centre compared to other as the oil patterns are shorter and urethane rolls well on such patterns. I am looking out for recommendation (to use at other center or places with bit longer oil patterns) about coverstock or particular bowl anyone might think could be a good buy for me. I am open to all kinds of suggestions :) :) :)
Thank you everyone for all your thoughts.

Yellow dot is soft plastic, I'd give you a used ball if you lived near me.

The Columbia ABC Masters Yellow Dot was urethane, maybe it is one of those?  In any event, the best thing to do is continue to work on your form and timing since you are a new bowler.  Once you are more comfortable and consistent with form and timing, then look into getting another ball for longer patterns.  Your Pro Shop Operator might even have some used/plugged equipment they could redrill to your specs and sell to you at a discount that would work while you are still learning.  Then, once you are truly comfortable with your game you can focus on buying brand new equipment.  Just my $.02
