Swell under the nail....
« on: June 23, 2008, 05:57:31 AM »
Recently I just move up from a 12lb plastic ball to a 14lb reactive and notice that even if I don't squeeze the thumb hole , some form of weight is pulling the skin below the part of the thumb nail which cause it to swell quite abit ... I am not sure if this is normal or something is wrong somewhere as I have no such problem before with my 12lb ball .

A picture of it here

Take a look at this fitting chart at jayhawk

Comparing your picture with it shows that caused by-
# Excessive Reverse Pitch
# Span Too Short or Too Long
# Hole Too Big

So I would have your span checked by your driller.
If he says its fitting right it wouldn't hurt to get a
second opinion from another pro shop if possible.

Thanks for the great help guys , now i know what could be the possible cause before i head out to the pro shop for their opinion . Its always nice to have different opinion from different prospective and experience . One of my friend told me that i am squeezing the ball too hard that cause the swell under the skin of my nail but i suspect it might not be the case as I had no similar problem with my other balls and the feel is just different .

Cheers
