What is the measuring stick in relation to what makes up a beginning, intermediate and above average bowler bowler.
Is it average based soley, or perhaps just the concept of picking up the ball and heaving it from the one and only spot that u throw on the lanes?????

Also when can u consider yourself an intermediate, or better yet, an above average bowler???

Personally, average of up to 160 bowler might be considered a beginner (also a bowler who has little understanding of shifting boards for spare leaves)..
Intermediate, perhaps 160-190 range...

just my thoughts, what do u guys think.
Love some feedback
See ya LL

Well, some personal opinion on your topic...

I'd even go one step more down to social bowlers who come to the lanes for recreation and use house balls or fitting polyesters.

I consider a beginner to be somebody who starts playing regularly and who steps up to fingertip and a reactive/particle ball. Discover the "hooking" world...

From this on it gets nebulous. Intermediates should have a distinctive ball arsenal for different conditions, know how to deploy it and an average of about 150. Turkeys should be a common sight, or at least some series of completed frames in a game.

Anything beyond this would be advanced - especially when you have a consistent game, know how to make spares. Frequent Clean Games and 200+ games should indicate that this person knows what he or she is doing.

An above average bowler should be able to do this on ANY condition you can throw at him or her, not only in the usual house, and even under pressure of competition or publicy. An official average in the 200s would be consequential.
