I'm proud of myself, seriously!!
« on: January 05, 2005, 07:31:58 PM »
Took my oldest boy (3 yrs) bowling today, whilst trying to focus as well as watching over him as he sits eating his drink and chips and praying that he wouldn't run off somewhere, or spill everything, on top of hitting my first slump of 2005 didn't help. Anyway, the point is, I rocked up to my centre early morning , they had just finished oiling lanes , or at least cleaning them only a half hour ago. I had bowled on them previously last week, and under performed, still, I thought I will really concentrate today. Started of skidding past head pin for a couple of frames, made a few adjustments, still wasn't working, tried a different line, improved results but not what I was after. Then made my third line adjustment, and it was lovely!!!! Hit pocket consistantly, with good angle and plenty of power.

What I am trying to say in a roundabout way, is that I am really pleased to have made the effort to find the BEST line, and the fact that it took me into my second game to find it is something.. In the past, I would have kept to my original line, and continued making little moves here and there for the entire 3 games, which in the past would have given me a totally rubbish series. left the centre today, thinking that I bowled prety ordinary overall, yet now, with a little self reflection, I am proud that I kept trying to find the line, really. I would not have done that a year ago, am I becoming a "smarter" bowler. I sure as sh*t hope so...
Anyone else experienced this..
