For the first time today I learned how to control my hook on the lanes I regularly bowl! I'm converting to a hook ball from a straight ball (which I averaged in the high 140's), and have had quite a bit of trouble getting a handle on it. I bought a used Brunswick BVP Mammoth to learn how to hook with. It works great, but I had trouble learning where to release from and what arrow to aim at.
I began to get frustrated and I think my form was suffering because after I'd bowl I'd get a sore left hip and knee (I'm right handed), so I took a week off. This was my first time back, and I worked out my stance and target to where I was hitting the front pins consistently. Next I just need to work on making my release more consistent.
Cheers!
