Getting back into the game
« on: January 11, 2009, 05:13:04 AM »
I haven't owned a ball since the mid 90's, and have only been going maybe twice a year since then.

Since I have only been  going sparingly, I have used lane balls.. and my game has suffered, and isn't that fun. Recently, I found a urethane ball that I could use, I think it was a hammer, and my game started to come around. 120 or so game 1 and 180 game 2.

So thats they type of ball i want, but I dont want to massively overpay. Something that will play with my hook.

Any suggestions as to which direction of ball I should go? I'd say somewhere south of $100 if possible. Used is ok.

thanks!

I think 14# is what I'm looking for. I don't throw hard, maybe 15 mph.

You would be looking at an entry level ball like a Power Groove, Tornado, etc. They are a good starting point to get back in the game. Don't know your level of experience but if you want to step up a bit more you could look at an Avalanche from Brunswick.
