I'm back in it. Looking for a ball
« on: August 29, 2006, 05:45:41 AM »
First off just want to say hi, I am new to this site, but have been lurking around. I recently have got back into bowling after taking a long break. I grew up bowling in leagues for about a good 4 1/2 years playing locally, and just starting back up. I'm currently using a friends 15lb hammer and shopping for a new ball for my self. A couple things, I'm a lefty, medium-low rpm spin but improving, and normal speed throw. I'm sure I goofed on the terminology but you get the point. Here are a couple balls I'm reading up on.
Brunswick Inferno(s)
BVP Rampage
Storm Pyro
I may be way off here, so any suggestions or questions please let me know.
Thanks

Take a look at the Hammer Doom.  It's a very popular mid priced ball with a lot of posters here, myself included.  It has a unique blend of power and control, it has a great price and looks great too.

I'm not a bowler, but I do play one on Ballreviews.

Not one over the other, but look/read on these:

Doom
Pain
Over Time
Whirl Wind
No Limit
Pyro
Thunderstruck
Punisher
Rampage
Wrath XP

There are many many more, but this will give you a place to start. Hope this helps.

Are you hooked on HAMMER or are you jsut looking for a decent ball? Depending on how much you want to spend, not sure about your budget, but brunswick has a nice line of balls at a mid-level price. I know when I first started, I got a ZONE and my average jumped 40 pins from one year to the next. But go to your local PRO-SHOP and talk to them. They will help you, cause they want to sell you another ball down the road. Not sure where you are located, but if you are around the TAMPA, FLORIDA area, I can tell you of where I have sent alot of people and they are very happy with what they were told.
