Being a hammerhead myself, I like and am partial to the Black Widow line. I have the Bite, original Widow and Widow pearl all of which are smooth through the heads and have a good backend finish. I dont have the BW Venom but its gotten some good reviews as well. I know a few guys using the Sauce and it is doing well for them also. If you want to go a little tamer, something in the Vibe line may work for you also. Probably what you need to do is assess the lane condition you are bowling on most frequently then check out some of the reviews done on here. With the assortment of drilling patterns a good ball driller can put in a ball, you have a lot of options in just about any ball with a reactive coverstock. As I said I am partial to Hammer and Columbia currently and they are both made by Ebonite and I have used Ebonite products in the past as well with good success. The Widows have revived my game and they match well to the lanes I bowl on and the lane conditions they put down. I have one Storm ball but I have not fared as well with it and I have two of the Monster line of balls Brunswick made some time ago which I had success with a few years back. I guess advice wise I would say analyze your game and the houses you bowl in and what you want the ball to do, maybe if you have a friend or someone around with a similar style, release, rev and speed that has success with a certain ball talk with them and get their take on things, talk with your pro shop operator and see if he has some information that would be helpful, take a look at the 2009 ball guide in the USBC magazine, then look over some of the reviews here. Take your time, do a little research and you will come up with the ball thats right for you. Good luck...
