PBA oil patterns, ball drillings, and balls
« on: June 13, 2007, 11:44:51 AM »
There are five PBA oil patterns, Viper, Cheetah, Shark, Chameleon, and Scorpion.  My question is what ball drilling would you recommend for each pattern and with what balls by what manufacturers. I am not asking you to endorse any particular manufacturer. I just want an idea of the type of ball.

This may sound silly but to say I would use a weak ball and drill it strong or vice versa doesn't mean much to me because I am not sure what a weak ball is or a strong drilling is. (Maybe you could also explain that also.)

I am told that I am a tweener but I can rev it, if necessary.

Also, will these drillings work on various league conditions.  I normally bowl on a wet/dry condition for league in the winter.

Jeff Carter, a poster on these message boards, storm staffer, and exempt touring pro, stated one time, somewhere, that the special agent works well for him on all patterns but the Cheetah.
